Nick Jonas ran off stage after an audience member reportedly aimed a laser pointer at him.
The singer raced off stage during a Jonas Brothers concert in Prague and was seen holding up the “timeout” hand signal during the band’s show on Tuesday night, according to a TikTok clip reposted by Pop Base on X.
The group, which also includes Nick Jonas’ brothers Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas, resumed playing shortly after. The pause in the show was a result of a concertgoer using a laser pointer, Prague’s O2 Arena confirmed to USA TODAY on Tuesday.
performance had to be interrupted for several minutes due to the use of a prohibited laser pointer” by someone in the audience, the arena spokesperson said. “The organizing service responded to this fact immediately. After a few minutes, the band continued their performance and went back on the stage.”
The band is currently on a world tour, which began last August and is set to end Wednesday in Krakow, Poland. USA TODAY has reached out to the Jonas Brothers’ reps for comment.
This is the latest onstage incident to happen to a famous band in recent weeks. Last month, Detroit police confirmed to the USA TODAY Network that their department detained a person suspected of flying a drone over Comerica Park during Green Day’s concert, which prompted the band to abruptly rush offstage early in the show.
“There was an individual that flew a drone into Comerica Park, and because of that, Green Day was taken off the stage,” Detroit Police Department spokesman Cpl. Dan Donakowski told the Detroit Free Press, part of the USA TODAY Network. “DPD did locate the individual. He is being detained pending further investigation.”
The band members raced offstage at about 8:50 p.m. while performing their fan-favorite song “Longview” amid signals from crew members who suddenly emerged from the wings.
